Senior Operations Manager - Small Group Employee Benefits

SUMMARY
Responsible for enhancing all brokerage services activities in Small Group to support on-going sales efforts and achievement of organizational goals. Partners with Sr. Operations Manager in the overall leadership and management of the Operating Group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strategically focused to direct planning, execution and achievements of the small group practice's operation goals;
• Leads the development of standards, and processes within the small group practice and improves scalability of the team;
• Ensure small group sales and marketing tools and materials are updated, current, and effective;
• Directs and mentors management team and ensures that team is effectively motivating, rewarding and retaining employees through effective recruiting practices, timely completion of performance reviews and utilization of performance management tools including rewards, recognition and disciplinary actions;
• Reviews and recommends compensation changes including annual merit, off cycle pay adjustments, and incentive compensation payouts;
• Develops and implements consistent policies, work flows and procedures including corresponding measurement tools in the small group team;
• Performs critical review of final revenue and expense budgets within small group;
• Advocates the enhanced use of technology and training to achieve efficiency in the small group practice;
• Partners with Human Resources to ensure compliance with employment law and consistent organizational practices;
• Tracks annual customer retention for the team based on a client count and revenue;
• Ensures small group sales and marketing tools and material are updated, current and effective;
• Tracks and reports on the success of the small group practice;
• Partners with other Alliant small group teams to collaborate on and import into NorCal best practices across Alliant’s small group business;
• Performs all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates;
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Master’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Fifteen (15) or more years related work experience
Valid insurance license required
Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
SKILLS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Strong ability to motivate and develop staff
Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
