Job Summary:

The Compensation Consultant will be responsible for managing and supporting the compensation programs within OnTrac. This position will be pivotal in driving market analysis, job classification, and managing the company's rewards programs. The role will ensure the company’s compensation structure is competitive, equitable, and aligned with the organization's goals.  This role offers the opportunity to directly impact the company’s compensation strategy and collaborate with senior leadership to shape the future of OnTrac’s Total Rewards programs. 

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Sr Director, Total Rewards 

  • Direct Reports: None

  • Location: Remote

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Conduct regular market pay analysis and salary benchmarking to ensure the company’s compensation packages are competitive with industry standards. 

  • Develop and maintain job descriptions, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company policies. Manage job classification processes and provide recommendations on job levels and salary ranges. 

  • Lead the design and implementation of compensation programs, including base salary, bonuses, incentive plans, and equity programs. Ensure these programs align with business objectives and employee satisfaction. 

  • Contribute to the development and execution of reward and recognition programs aimed at enhancing employee engagement and retention. 

  • Serve as an internal consultant to HR and other business leaders on compensation-related matters, ensuring alignment with market trends and organizational needs. 

  • Consult with senior leadership regarding organization design and changes needed to make the organization more competitive. 

  • Analyze compensation data and provide insights to leadership on trends, gaps, and areas of improvement.  

  • Develop compensation-related reporting for leadership, including analysis aimed at facilitating decision-making from senior leaders. 

  • Assist in ensuring compensation practices comply with all legal regulations and internal policies. Provide recommendations for policy improvements as necessary. 

Additional Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Support cross-functional projects related to organizational change. 

  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights. 

  • Excellent skill with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint 

  • Familiarity with updating and configuring compensation management tools and software. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure. 

  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations. 

  • Certification in compensation (e.g., Certified Compensation Professional (CCP)) preferred. 

Education and Experience 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. 

  • Experience: 7+ years of experience in compensation or HR, with strong knowledge of compensation principles, market analysis, and job classification. 

Physical and Mental Requirements 

  • Ability to focus in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities 

Travel Requirements 

  • Occasional (0–10%) travel for training and team meetings
