Lead Maintenance - DIST
Job Summary
Performs regular maintenance duties throughout the facility and is responsible for maintaining optimum performance and safe operation of all equipment and building components. Tracks inventory, places orders, and is responsible for the proper accounting of all maintenance and repair parts. Delivers constant communication to and from the Maintenance Manager and communicates with other Operational team members to encourage departmental efficiency and assists with long- and short-term planning. Supports other maintenance team members and ensures the department concentrates on priorities. Always strives for maximum productivity and efficiency.
Essential Job Functions *
- Performs preventive maintenance on multiple systems and equipment. Optimizes equipment idle time for preventive maintenance activities.
- Tracks inventory and informs Manager when parts are needed and when parts have been ordered.
- Makes both major and minor repairs to equipment with support as needed. Works with other maintenance team members to prioritize repairs and maintain a schedule for preventative maintenance.
- Follows all safety practices and company policies and procedures.
- Ensures that all maintenance personnel follow safety practices and company policies and procedures. Reports all unsafe conditions to the Maintenance Manager and supports all Company time-keeping standards.
- Maintains, and encourages other team members to maintain, a clean and organized work environment.
- Follows proper procedure when ordering parts.
- Uses a variety of power and hand tools to perform work safely.
- Maintains a thorough knowledge of processes and equipment within the assigned area and applies related knowledge to test and/or modify operational machinery and control equipment and circuitry.
- Accurately completes and turns in all daily maintenance reports.

Education & Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Five years related experience in machinery repair and electronic controls.
- Knowledge of Windows to include: Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to learn in-house software applications.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with a diverse group in a team setting.
- Able to work from verbal and written instructions.
- Good Organization skills with the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
- Good mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Working knowledge of facility building maintenance.
