Job Summary:
The Vendor Management and Procurement Office Advisor plays a strategic role in developing and guiding procurement and vendor management practices across the organization. This position provides expert advice on procurement strategies, vendor governance, risk mitigation, and cost optimization. The advisor partners with client business units and procurement teams to drive value, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a high-performing vendor ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement Advisory:
- Advise on procurement policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance sourcing efficiency and compliance.
- Support the development of category strategies, supplier segmentation, and sourcing plans.
- Analyze procurement trends and market data to provide insights for decision-making.
Vendor Management and Governance:
- Design and implement vendor governance frameworks to monitor performance, risk, and compliance.
- Facilitate vendor selection processes, including RFPs, evaluations, and negotiations.
- Guide contract development, review, and lifecycle management with a focus on risk mitigation and service-level compliance.
- Advise on conflict resolution, vendor offboarding, and corrective action plans when needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as an advisor to client stakeholders on vendor-related decisions, procurement policies, and cost optimization initiatives.
- Collaborate with legal, finance, compliance, and operational teams to ensure holistic vendor oversight.
Performance and Risk Monitoring:
- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards to track vendor performance and procurement metrics.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks in the vendor and supply chain landscape.
Training and Capacity Building:
- Conduct training and workshops for procurement teams and business units on procurement practices, vendor management, and regulatory compliance.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to procurement capability development across the organization.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in procurement, vendor management, or supply chain advisory roles.
Certifications (preferred):
- CIPS, CPSM, PMP, or relevant industry certification.
Skills & Competencies:
- Deep understanding of procurement frameworks, vendor governance, and supply chain risk.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Experience with procurement and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Ariba).
- Ability to work strategically and influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong ethical standards and knowledge of procurement compliance and regulations.
