The Field Chief Data Officer (Field CDO) is a strategic, senior leadership role responsible for ensuring clients across industries and regions are maximizing the value of the services they are subscribing to. The Field CDO advises client Chief Data Officers (CDOs) & Chief AI Officers (CAIOs) to define data strategies that leverage the cutting-edge technologies, analytics, and AI/ML offerings, providing clients with sustained competitive advantage. This position helps enable client CDOs and CAIOs to deliver high-value data analytic programs, ensure governance and compliance, and drive digital transformations that align with clients' business objectives.

The Field CDO will collaborate with clients, internal sales & account teams, and internal delivery teams to design scalable data solutions that address client business challenges, improve operational efficiency, and enable innovative outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Client Data Strategy and Consulting: Serve as the primary point client CDOs and CAIOs for strategic guidance on data needs, data governance, advanced analytics, AI/ML, and digital transformation.
    • Help client CDOs and CAIOs develop their data strategies, aligning them with business goals to drive growth, efficiency, and innovation.
    • Help client CDOs and CAIOs assess client data maturity, identify key data opportunities, and recommend solutions that enhance data-driven decision-making.
    • Work with client leadership teams to define key data objectives and ensure alignment with overall business strategies.

 

  1. Advanced Analytics and AI/ML Strategy: Provide client CDOs and CAIOs with strategic guidance on the implementation of AI/ML models, advanced analytics techniques, and data science solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and drive business insights.
    • Collaborate with clients to identify opportunities for predictive analytics, demand forecasting, and other data-driven models to create tangible business outcomes.
    • Advise clients on emerging trends and technologies in AI, machine learning, and automation, ensuring they stay ahead of the competition in their industry.

 

  1. Stakeholder and Executive Collaboration: Serve as a trusted advisor to C-level executives and key stakeholders, working with them to define data priorities and key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Collaborate with internal teams (sales, account management, engineering, product) to deliver innovative solutions to clients while aligning with overall business and technology strategies.
    • Present strategic data insights and recommendations to clients' executive teams, facilitating informed decision-making on data investments and initiatives.

 

  1. Business Development and Thought Leadership: Drive business development activities by identifying new opportunities within the firm’s existing client base and the broader market.
    • Position the firm as a leader in the data analytics space through speaking engagements, publishing white papers, and engaging in industry forums and events.
    • Develop and nurture relationships with senior client executives, acting as an influential thought leader on data-driven strategies and innovation.
    • Join sales leaders for new client pitches. Help sales teams with contacts with key CDOs and CAIOs.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience:
    • 15+ years of experience in data management, data science, analytics, or AI/ML, with a preference for Chief Data Officer roles.
    • Proven track record in delivering large-scale data and analytics solutions, AI-driven platforms, or digital transformation projects as a principal.
    • Experience working in diverse industries such as finance, healthcare, manufacturing, retail, media, and technology.
    • Strong understanding of data governance, compliance (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA), and risk management.
    • Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud), data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.), and business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, ThoughtSpot, etc.).
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in designing and implementing data-driven solutions across multiple technologies and platforms.
    • Strong leadership skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Deep knowledge of advanced analytics techniques, AI/ML models, data architectures (data lakes, data warehouses), and cloud hyperscaler solutions.
    • Excellent client relationship management, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Ability to drive business development initiatives and develop thought leadership within the data analytic consulting space.

Work Environment: Hybrid / remote. Travel to client locations and to conferences.
