• Compensation is a combination of $36,000 draw + commission
SUMMARY
The General Sales Manager is responsible for the overall recruiting and development of a designated sales unit within a branch office, and meeting personal and branch office production in support of the profitable growth and success of the branch office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs regular, in person outside sales activity selling products within a specific line of business directly to clients to meet both personal production as well as branch office production requirements for consumer sales.
• Responsible for leadership of the unit to ensure the branch office achieves the goals and objectives as reflected in the Business Plan for the branch office including sourcing, recruiting, developing, supervising, supporting and retaining the agents/advisors.
• Train new agents with company's marketing systems, illustration and planning tools; as well as sales appointment training with an emphasis on working jointly with unit agents (resulting in split commissions) and the establishment and implementation of minimum sales requirements.
• Monitor performance against goals and adhere to budget guidelines and approved annual marketing or business unit plans.
• Establish, oversee and/or participate with annual goal setting, including revenue and recruiting goals based upon sales projections and annual marketing or business plans for the business unit.
• Presentations at appropriate meetings to include ongoing initiatives as well as future plans to be implemented, accurate reporting, reviewing objectives, reviewing progress, identifying needs or areas for improvement and action plans for correction
• Perform all duties in accordance with all company policies and procedures, and all federal, state and local laws, wherein the Company operates.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in financial services or marketing, or an equivalent combination of education, industry training, designations and experience.
Two (2) or more years of successful insurance sales and/or management at a field or home office level.
Must have a strong sense and knowledge of sales and marketing concepts that are beneficial to the sale of insurance products.
Securities Licensing preferred but not required (Series 6, 63, 7, 24, 26 or 65).
SKILLS
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws as well as industry regulations.
Working knowledge of insurance services industries, concepts, and principles.
Knowledge of the general industry procedures, standards, systems, resources, practices and terminology.
Knowledge of supervisory techniques to accomplish instruction, motivation and training of personnel.
Excellent written, and verbal communication and collaboration skills, capable of effectively engaging with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, presentation skills, time management, organizational leadership and supervisory skills.
Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with all customers, employees and the general public.
Ability to work independently, exercise independent judgment, make and execute decisions.
Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to include evening and weekend hours as needed.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
