Summary/Purpose: 

The Toyota Sales Account Manager is responsible for managing and growing JTEKT’s sales with Toyota steering. This role blends foundational strategic thinking with growing independence, supporting both tactical execution and emerging leadership. The associate will work cross-functionally to support customer satisfaction, business development, and long-term account growth.


Essential Duties and Accountabilities:

  • Support commercial and technical account management for Toyota steering account.
  • Achieve/exceed annual business plan forecast and support strategic sales goals.
  • Generate and follow up on customer inquiries and quotations.
  • Assist in early-stage opportunity development through RFQ receipt, negotiation, and production launch.
  • Ensure timely and accurate quotations aligned with profitability objectives.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships and act as a JTEKT ambassador.
  • Communicate effectively across internal and external stakeholders on customer issues and requirements.
  • Coordinate contract adjustments and process changes with internal teams and customers.
  • Support customer prototype and production requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for increased sales and profit improvement on maintenance business.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, and business units.
  • Contribute to internal systems and documentation processes.

  • None

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Account Management experience (+3 years).  Automotive experience is a preferred.
  • Foundational understanding of mechanical, electrical, and technical components.
  • Excellent communication, and language skills both through verbally and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently on routine tasks and seek guidance for complex issues.
  • Experience in cross-department and customer-facing communication.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize workload and contribute to team-based goals.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred.  Bachelor’s degree in business and/or equivalent work experience considered.
  • Experience (+3 years) in Account Management.  Automotive experience is preferred.

  • Travel by automobile and plane required approximately 10-20% of time.
