Lead Product Data Syndication
Job Summary
The Lead Product Data Syndication individual will be a key member of the content marketing team and will help manage the Hillman PIM system (Salsify). This role requires a strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of best practices for the management of product content, specifications, and assets (images, videos, PDFs, etc.). The individual in this role will need to be comfortable working both as part of a team and autonomously, effective juggling various projects simultaneously, and solution oriented in their working style.
The individual selected for this role will play a critical role in managing product content and syndication by identifying opportunities to enhance data quality, automate processes, and accelerate speed-to-market through advanced technologies. They partner with key customers to improve content accuracy, expand distributor product assortments, and optimize brand presence for better visibility and engagement, while addressing data maintenance requests and resolving issues..
Essential Job Functions *
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the quality of master data and taxonomy within the Product Information Management (PIM) system. Ensure standardized, complete, and accurate content, including taxonomy categorization, attribute assignment, marketing copy, and product references, to meet downstream customer requirements effectively.
- Manage new attributes that need to be added into Salsify, ensuring any product data is filled in completely for existing products.
- Review and audit product assets, to ensure they are in the correct order, are assigned to the right product, and fill in any gaps as needed.
- Manage new item setup procedures within Salsify and ensure all base product information is filled in and correct. Complete any new attributes by category. Add additional product data based on retailer requirements.
- Identify and analyze content issues, establish root causes, and leverage technology to implement innovative solutions that address underlying problems while exceeding expectations and delivering multiple actionable options.
- Oversee product content syndication processes, identifying and implementing opportunities to improve data quality, streamline processes, and accelerate speed-to-market by leveraging advanced technologies.
- Audit product information on retailer sites and leverage our internal PIM system (Salsify) to compile product information. Upload any missing or updated product information back into our internal PIM system, to keep product specifications consistent.
- Coordinate development of additional product assets, as needed. Such as marketing tiles, infographics, and A+/Enhanced Content.
- Support overall company strategies, plans and guidelines; continually monitor and optimize performance to goals and objectives

Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of exposure to content management, syndication, with Fundamental knowledge and experience of PIM/Content Syndication Tools, preferably with basic exposure to Salsify or similar software.
- At least 3 years of assisting eCommerce Retailers (such as Amazon, Lowe’s, The Home Depot) in content management and support.
- Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite applications with foundational understanding and experience with manipulating large amounts of data.
Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Familiarity with key performance indicators of content, sales and demand generation
- Engagement in cross-platform projects with internal and/or external stakeholders (digital marketing, creative/graphics, channel teams, vendors, etc.).
- Experience balancing multiple projects with ability to pivot as required.
- Ability to identify, articulate and communicate broad and succinct solutions to various groups.
- Clear focus on the consumer (end user) experience and satisfaction.
- Basic understanding of the product and asset lifecycle, taxonomy models, and content distribution practices.
- Some experience writing copy and the ability to proof/QA titles, descriptions, bullets, and salsify properties for clear, clean, and consistent copy and product information.
- Basic understanding of search engine optimization (SEO)/Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and conversion.
- Desire to continually learn, as well as create and improve processes and results.
