Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the assigned vegetable prep team according to the supervisor's instructions and daily production needs.
  • Perform washing, chopping, dicing, and peeling of vegetables using knives or peeling machines, ensuring accuracy and consistency of cuts.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the immediate work area, tools, and equipment at all times.
  • Comply with all food safety and hygiene regulations as outlined in the Food Safety Management System (FSMS) handbook.
  • Report any issues related to food safety to the manager and the hygiene/food safety team.
  • Smell, pierce, and taste food as needed to verify doneness and quality.
  • Promote a climate of teamwork and cooperation within the team.
  • Support inventory efforts by noting low stock levels and informing the supervisor.
  • Minimize food wastage through proper handling and preparation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

 

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role in food production or kitchen environment.
  • Familiarity with various vegetable cutting styles.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physically demanding tasks during 8-hour shifts.
  • Capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling as required.
  • Comfortable working in both hot and cold environments.
  • Service-oriented with a collaborative and team-focused mindset.
  • Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
