Divisional Controller – Lodging Payments

What We Need

Corpay is currently looking to hire a strategic and results-driven Divisional Controller within our Lodging Payments division. This position falls under our Finance line of business and is located in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will lead and design the effective and consistent delivery of revenue recognition to support the organization’s revenue targets. You will report directly to the Global Controller and regularly collaborate with the Lodging Payments leadership team.

As a Divisional Controller, you will be expected to work in an office environment. Corpay will set you up for success by providing:

  • Assigned workspace in the Brentwood, TN office
  • Company-issued equipment

Role Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Managing and providing oversight of roles within the finance team to achieve accurate and timely reporting of revenue across the Lodging Payments business
  • Effectively managing the flow of contract information to appropriately record revenue from multiple service offerings, by legal entity and market, and evaluating any sales tax or other state or local filing requirements
  • Working with the Operations teams to create appropriate billing processes and deliverables showcasing accuracy and professional standards of Corpay
  • Ensuring the global accounting policies and procedures are followed including maintaining an effective control environment and adherence to internal controls
  • Participating in the analysis of revenue and the collection of delinquencies to ensure maximum benefit to the line of business, while catching errors that would misstate revenue
  • Maintaining regular contact and building/maintaining solid working relationships with internal stakeholders to provide necessary financial information and ensure the highest level of business partnership
  • Partnering and working effectively with the FP&A teams to understand key metrics and utilize these to investigate and explain revenue variances and to support budget and forecasting processes
  • Supporting the Finance & IT Transformation agenda
  • Providing clear direction and expectations for achieving agreed objectives
  • Providing effective and efficient people management and mentoring through the Dayforce process
  • Encouraging behaviors that foster an inclusive, flexible culture that encourages excellence
  • Ensuring robust business continuity plans, risk management, and continuous improvement plans are in place for Finance Operations
  • Developing and communicating development plans, objectives, and targets that are regularly reported on and provide opportunities for continual improvement
  • Engaging with key stakeholders and customer groups to agree on and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in finance operations function resourcing
  • Proactively escalating value and risk issues
  • Ensuring financial information provided to support decision-making is fit-for-purpose, compliant, and provides clear explanations of financial issues and their implications
  • Protecting CORPAY’s financial assets by ensuring compliance with financial regulations and GAAP
  • Undertaking other ad hoc tasks as required, focusing particularly on improving processes and systems

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree (accounting or finance designation), with CPA
  • Approximately 8+ years of relevant finance and accounting experience obtained in large or complex public organization with high volume transactions
  • A minimum of 8 years related finance or accounting experience in a supervisory role
  • Experience working for a Big 4 Accounting firm (preferred)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of internal controls, SOX, USGAAP
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think analytically and apply concepts strategically
  • Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
  • Meticulous and strong attention to detail
  • Deadline oriented, good time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
