What We Need
Corpay is currently looking to hire a Staff Accountant . This position falls under our Finance & Accounting Center of Excellence line of business and is located in Brentwood, TN. In this role, you will be an instrumental component in the company's Accounting Department. You will report directly to the Accounting Manager and regularly collaborate with Divisional & Business Team Leadership, Treasury, and Divisional Controllers.

Role Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the role will include:
- Preparing month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Promptly responding to provide additional support for preliminary month-end financial review and flux explanations at the request of supervisors
- Ensuring collaboration with the accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close
- Continually evaluating and optimizing month-end close processes to deliver process automation and improved accuracy
- Participating in the preparation of internal controls and the corresponding policies and procedures that improve the overall operation and reduce risks to the business
- Coordinating with other team members within our department to ensure accuracy of the financial account balances
- Partnering with and being the liaison with other departments on analyzing financial balances, problem resolution, and strategic business initiatives
- Participating in special projects and performing other related duties as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience; CPA track preferred
- 0-3 years of previous experience in accounting roles – public accounting experience a plus
- Understanding of journal entries and account reconciliations
- Fintech, financial, or technology sector/industry experience a plus
- Interest in process improvement and IT system implementation projects
- Proven team player who has demonstrated capabilities in the following areas: excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal skills, well-developed problem-solving skills; solid organizational skills; and the demonstrated ability to be self-directed and effectively communicate to all levels of an organization when necessary
- Ability to coordinate and work within a team in a hybrid environment
- Demonstrated background and knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
- Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines timely and accurate in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Hands-on, detail-oriented individual with the ability to see the big picture
- Desire to work in a complex, large-scale accounting and finance environment

- Advanced computer skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, and up-to-date skills in ERP, EPM, and DB systems
