SUMMARY: The Clean Line Technician I is responsible for performing cleaning processes on various aerospace components. These processes include chemical treatments, abrasive blasting, and hand cleaning techniques to remove contaminants, old coatings, and engine run surface conditions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Interpret and execute tasks based on verbal instructions, technical documentation, and customer specifications, ensuring compliance with industry cleanliness standards.
- Clean a wide range of aerospace components to remove contaminants such as dirt, grease, oil, and old coatings using chemical, mechanical, and manual cleaning methods.
- Perform detailed visual inspections of components to identify surface irregularities, damage, or areas requiring further attention.
- Operate and maintain specialized cleaning equipment, including but not limited to abrasive blasting machines and chemical treatment tanks, ensuring proper use of cleaning solvents and materials.
- Accurately document all work performed, including any defects or irregularities found, ensuring thorough communication with supervisors and the quality assurance team.
- Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines, including coordinating the waste stream to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
- Report any operational issues, equipment malfunctions.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- High school or equivalent.
- 2 years of relevant experience in the aerospace or a related industry.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to work with various tools and equipment.
- Attention to detail.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Specific experience using clean and strip line equipment and processes.
- 3 years of experience in the aerospace industry or related field.
- Knowledge of chemical handling, abrasive blasting, and cleaning techniques.
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and safety practices, particularly related to the handling of chemicals and hazardous materials.
OTHER:
- The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and drug testing.
