POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Associate Accountant reports to the Sr. Manager, Accounting
- Located in Irvine, CA
- Full-Time
- In Office
The Associate Accountant will support various accounting functions, including preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, assisting with financial reporting, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the finance department. This role offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth and development in the field of accounting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Journal Entry Preparation:
- Assist in preparing journal entries and ensure their accurate posting to the general ledger.
Account Reconciliation:
- Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts to maintain accuracy.
Month-end and Year-end Close Support:
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by preparing reconciliations and reports.
Accounts Payable and Receivable Assistance:
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, including invoice processing and vendor payments.
Financial Reporting:
- Participate in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
Recordkeeping and Documentation:
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation.
Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with team members to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
Audit Support:
- Provide support for audits and other financial inquiries as required.
Continuous Learning:
- Stay updated on accounting principles, regulations, and industry trends.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- 0 – 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles (internship experience may be considered), or equivalent military or practical experience.
- Bachelor's in Accounting required.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar).
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies.
- CPA certification or progress towards certification is a plus.
- Ability to successfully pass a background check post offer acceptance.
