Key Responsibilities:

• Install, maintain, and repair heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and associated components across the campus.

• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electronic, mechanical, and electrical issues to ensure optimal system performance.

• Perform routine preventative maintenance and conduct regular equipment inspections to identify and address potential problems proactively.

• Receive and complete work orders, maintaining accurate and detailed records of all labor, materials, and refrigerant usage.

• Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout procedures and the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

• Maintain an organized service vehicle with adequate stock, parts, tools, and safety equipment.

• Collaborate with other skilled trades and management to meet the overall goals of the facilities department.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience: A minimum of 1-3 years of hands-on experience in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of commercial HVAC systems.

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required. A certificate or two-year degree from a trade school or community college in HVAC/R is highly preferred.

• Licenses & Certifications:

  • CFC Universal or Type II Certification is required.

  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

• Skills:

  • Strong analytical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

  • Capable of working independently as a self-starter and effectively as part of a team.

  • Flexibility to be part of a rotating on-call weekend schedule for emergency service needs.
