Business Development Specialist - Cleveland Charge
JOB SUMMARY:
The Cleveland Charge are owned by a group lead by the Cleveland Cavaliers and majority owner, Dan Gilbert, under the 'Rock Entertainment Group' umbrella. Considered one of the premier sport businesses in the NBA G League, the Charge play their home games at the historic Cleveland Public Hall and are the Development League franchise of the Cavaliers. The Cleveland Charge are seeking a Business Development Specialist that will focus on generating revenue through selling season ticket memberships, contractually obligated premium seating, group tickets, partial plans, and more. This role emphasizes setting face-to-face sales meetings with fans and business leaders through outbound cold calling. The ideal candidate has prior sports ticket sales experience with a proven track record for generating revenue at a high level and achieving sales goals.
** Candidates MUST have flexible availability, including nights, weekends and occasional holidays.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Generating ticket package sales through cold calling, face-to-face appointments, arena tours, and in-game selling.
- Prospecting new leads daily (businesses, groups, etc.).
- Set meetings with key decision makers of community and corporate groups.
- Developing professional relationships with current clients and generating referrals for additional revenue opportunities.
- Providing top-notch customer service is a must.
- Must meet all sales revenue goals as provided by Team Leader.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, sales, marketing, sports management, or a related field preferred.
- 1+ year of sports sales experience preferred.
- Must have flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and all Cleveland Charge home games.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office platforms).
- Strong customer-first mindset with a passion for building relationships and delivering exceptional service.
- Sales-oriented approach with excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
