Gate House Attendant

PURPOSE OF ROLE:  

Facilitate all inbound and outbound truck traffic for the campus.  Check in/out trucks and direct them to the appropriate dock door/yard location, as scheduled within warehouse management system. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

• ​​Check in/out, via warehouse management system, all trucks entering/leaving the campus. 

• ​Act as a liaison and Maintain radio communication with Warehouse and Drivers  

• ​Direct trucks to appropriate scale location and record data in warehouse management system. 

• ​Collaborate with Warehouse Supervisor for open and available dock door space. 

• ​Collect/Sign/Date/ completely fill out any required paperwork for each load. 

• ​Enter any required data point in the warehouse management system. 

• ​Good housekeeping and organizational skills and follow safety policies. 

• ​Must be able to follow work instructions and safety policies. 

• ​Execute assignments in an accurate, timely, and safe manner  

• ​Identify any damage or abnormalities with equipment and report to immediate supervisor.  

• ​Perform any additional tasks given by the Supervisor. 

• ​Report any suspicious activity to the supervisor. ​

KNOWLEDGE / QUALIFICATONS / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE 

• Able to work in a fast-paced environment. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills. 

• Functional knowledge of warehouse environment. 

• Able to follow instructions given for daily tasks. 

• Considerate and respectful to coworkers. 

• Good math, language, and reading skills 

• Basic computer skills required 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 

• High School Diploma/GED 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

• Sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. 

• Ability to work in varying temperatures, and outside weather conditions depending upon season.
