Maintenance - Assistant Chief Engineer
Where Hospitality Becomes Unscripted.
Job Summary
At OTH Hotels Resorts, we don’t believe in service that’s scripted—we believe in hospitality that’s human. As an Assistant Chief Engineer, you are the right hand to the Chief Engineer and a vital force behind the comfort, functionality, and safety of the hotel. This role isn’t just about fixing equipment—it’s about ensuring the spaces where guests stay, relax, and connect are operating at their very best. You lead with hands-on expertise, support your team with care, and help maintain the heartbeat of the property, one thoughtful repair and proactive check at a time. You are more than an engineer—you’re a problem-solver and a behind-the-scenes hero. And when empowered with our Unscripted Hospitality mindset, your leadership ensures that every guest experience runs as smoothly as the systems you maintain.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Chief Engineer in overseeing all engineering operations, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and daily assignments.
- Lead and work alongside the engineering team to ensure the property’s infrastructure—HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, and life safety—is operating efficiently.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and maintenance issues, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Assist with training and supervising maintenance team members, promoting a culture of safety, care, and pride in workmanship.
- Conduct regular property inspections and coordinate timely repairs for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house.
- Maintain clear records of maintenance work, safety inspections, and inventory usage.
- Ensure all safety protocols, codes, and OSHA regulations are followed and documented accurately.
- Collaborate with other departments (Housekeeping, Front Office, Food & Beverage) to address operational needs.
- Step in to lead the department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
- Assist in capital planning, project coordination, and vendor management.
Who You Are
- A hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a heart for service.
- Experienced in hotel or commercial building maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or senior technician role.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and performing repairs across multiple trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
- Calm under pressure and effective at coordinating work in a fast-paced environment.
- Safety-minded and highly organized, with a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Physically able to lift, climb, bend, and stand for extended periods in varied conditions.
- Flexible with scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and on-call responsibilities.
- Holds required certifications or licenses based on local codes (e.g., HVAC, electrical, boiler, etc.).

In your role, you don’t just maintain a building—you preserve the guest experience. Every light that works, every room that cools, every faucet that flows—you made it happen. At OTH Hotels Resorts, your expertise keeps the experience alive and running, every hour of every day.
