Outside Sales Representative – Valve Automation

We are seeking a motivated and experienced outside sales representative to join our team and drive sales growth in the actuator and valve automation market.
Job Summary: the outside sales representative will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, promoting our products, and driving sales of pneumatic actuators and related solutions. This role requires a proactive, results-driven individual with a strong technical understanding of valve actuators and proven sales experience in the industry.
Key responsibilities:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the valve automation industry, targeting key accounts and industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, water treatment, pulp & paper, and industrial manufacturing.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, providing exceptional customer service and technical support.
- Promote and sell pneumatic actuators and related automation products, meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Conduct on-site client visits, product demonstrations, and technical presentations to showcase product benefits and solutions.
- Collaborate with internal engineering and product teams to develop tailored solutions for client needs.
- Prepare and deliver accurate sales proposals, quotes, and contracts.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain detailed records of sales activities, customer interactions, and pipeline progress using a CRM system.
- Attend industry tradeshows, conferences, and networking events to expand brand presence and generate leads.
- Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.
Qualifications:
- 3 to 5 years of outside sales experience in the valve actuator / valve automation industry, with a focus on pneumatic actuators.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical sales environment.
- Strong technical knowledge of valve automation systems, including pneumatic actuators and related components.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work independently and manage a territory effectively.
- Willingness to travel within the assigned territory as needed (50-75% travel).
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Preferred skills/experience:
- Established network of contacts within the valve automation industry.
- Experience selling to industries such as oil and gas, water treatment, pulp & paper, or chemical processing.
