Senior Marketing Automation Manager
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Marketing Automation, the Senior Marketing Automation Manager, will be responsible for developing and executing email & SMS strategies that align with NCSA’s overall marketing and sales go-to market approach. You will develop email strategies grounded in customer insights, data and best practices to nurture leads and drive enrollments. You will take a holistic, customer-centric approach to understanding the user experience for our newsletters and workshops outreach, as well as optimizing outreach within the sales funnel. You will regularly report on the success of overall email marketing campaigns and tests, continuously working to iterate and optimize our outreach. This resource will strategically analyze the customer journey as it relates to our email strategies, to ensure a seamless path from email to site and, ultimately, conversion. It is key that this resource is proactive and entrepreneurial, as this resource will partner with other marketing functions, such as the design, content, and business development teams to execute strategic objectives.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develop a deep understanding across NCSA’s array of go-to-market systems, including Salesforce, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Transactional Emails, Product, and more
- Support the build, QA and execution of brand omnichannel programs, specifically our newsletter and recruiting workshops. This includes building out journeys (base cadences) and a small number of low complexity trigger programs to deliver the right message to the right person at the right time through the right channel
- Ensure high quality, on-time, and error free implementation, testing, and QA of campaigns within the marketing automation platform. Create, review, and share standard quality control document and follow process to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain documents per requirements of department document management policies and procedures.
- Proactively use A/B testing and other experimentation techniques to demonstrably show increase in performance of existing or new campaigns
- Implement capabilities including targeting, personalization, audience segmentation, and dynamic, personalized content to deliver the best customer experience. Build and execute test plans, identify winners and pro-actively recommend optimization opportunities and ensure high email deliverability, reach and engagement.
- Collaborate with leadership from Sales/Sales Ops, Marketing, and Product/Engineering to experiment with valuable new campaigns and journeys leveraging Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related field.
- 6+ years of experience of Database Marketing, CRM, Email, Digital, Direct Mail, 1:1 marketing experience
- 3+ years of management experience
- Experience with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar enterprise-level marketing automation platform, hands on experiences with cloud connector between SFMC and SFDC preferred.
- Knowledge of building customer journeys, HTML email templates
- Strong combination of being business-minded and highly analytical
- Demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems creatively, and deliver results
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams with many tasks and timelines; ability to prioritize workloads and deliver on commitments
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
