Position Summary:
The Risk Administrator will lead the identification, communication, measurement, and management of company-wide physical risk which shall include management of workers’ compensation claims, insurance procurement/claims reporting, and development/implementation of risk management and compliance policies/procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
- Track and manage the team’s Workers’ Compensation Program. Work extensively with legal team, outside counsel, people operations and third-party administrator(s) on the administration of pending claims
- Manage the worker’s compensation and staff incident reporting program, and process, assess and report claims to carriers/TPA as appropriate
- Differentiating workers’ compensation and personal health medical bills and filing personal health bills with health insurance company, as needed
- Required OSHA recordkeeping and yearly reporting to OSHA regarding all on-the-job injuries including a detailed report, as well as any required immediate OSHA incident reporting
- Manage relationships with third party insurance providers including brokers, underwriters and third-party administrators
- Evaluate, provide recommendations regarding selection, and assist in the drafting of insurance policies
- Coordinate and submit, as necessary, the gathering of insurance policy renewal applications
- Compile incident reports and claims or losses
- Investigate, resolve and respond to liability claims
- Provide timely notice of potential claims to insurance carriers
- Develop and communicate plans to address loss events
- Assist with annual P&C insurance portfolio
- Identify potential risk exposures, recommend solutions, implement approved programs, promote loss prevention, update and monitor compliance
- Conduct company-wide risk assessments to ensure enterprise risks are identified, evaluated and managed
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop and implement standards, processes, programs and best practices related to risk management
- Review agreements for applicable insurance requirements and risk mitigation provisions
- Additional risk management duties as requested
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 6-8 years of insurance, workers’ compensation, and risk management experience
- Bachelor’s degree required; Preferred areas of study: Business, Legal, Finance, Accounting, or Risk Management
- Associate in Risk Management preferred
- Exceptional written & verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organization and negotiation skills
- Ability to multi-task and handle a large volume of matters in a fast-paced environment
