Position Summary: The Head Coach for the Girls’ National Lacrosse program is responsible for engaging, inspiring, and developing student-athletes through expert coaching, training, mentorship, and fostering a culture of integrity, passion, teamwork, and academic excellence both on and off the field. 

This is a dynamic role that requires a passionate and committed leader with a focus on both the development of athletic skills and fostering personal growth in student-athletes. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker, a strong communicator, and a dedicated advocate for the success of the Girls' National Lacrosse program. 

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Cultivate a highly competitive and inclusive girls’ lacrosse program rooted in integrity, growth, and learning, with a focus on character development. 
  • Inspire and motivate student-athletes to reach their full potential in lacrosse while promoting academic success and personal development. 
  • Establish and execute strategic training techniques that enhance both technical skills and team-building efforts, creating a winning program. 
  • Build a challenging and competitive game schedule, with opportunities for nationally competitive matches and possible media exposure. 
  • Foster a community environment where students, parents, educators, and administrators work together for the holistic development of each athlete. 
  • Monitor student-athletes' academic progress and ensure awareness of NCAA eligibility requirements and college placement, in collaboration with College Counseling. 
  • Recruit, develop, and manage coaching staff and support personnel, ensuring the program maintains the highest standards of excellence. 
  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the program, including season planning, scheduling, facility management, team registrations, and communication with stakeholders. 
  • Ensure safety protocols are adhered to during all practices and games, maintaining a secure and healthy environment for all participants. 
  • Communicate effectively with parents, student-athletes, faculty, college and professional coaches, and other external stakeholders. 
  • Represent the lacrosse program in public relations activities, including media interviews and speaking engagements. 
  • Uphold the values, policies, and ethical standards of the institution, as well as those of lacrosse’s governing bodies. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in physical education, sports management, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience. 
  • Proven successful coaching experience, with a track record of managing and developing all aspects of a competitive sports program. 
  • Strong commitment to the academic, athletic, and personal development of student-athletes. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of stakeholders. 
  • Experience with video technology for coaching, including editing, filming, and analysis. 
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships within and outside the lacrosse program. 
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment and manage complex schedules. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience in the college planning and placement process. 
  • Desire to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators. 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for tournaments, games, and other lacrosse-related events. 

Physical Demands and Work Environment: 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Must be able to handle a high-energy environment and maintain physical endurance during training and games. 
  • Ability to lift, move, push, and pull equipment or boxes in excess of 40 lbs. 
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions and move across different campus facilities (e.g., fields, gym, turf).
