Responsibilities: 

  • Implement, monitor, and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to HACCP, food safety, and hygiene protocols.
  • Conduct comprehensive facility audits to assess GMP, hygiene, and HACCP compliance, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
  • Investigate and address HACCP non-compliance issues, ensuring timely and effective corrective measures.
  • Oversee and facilitate food safety and hygiene training programs, including new hire orientation, refresher training, and annual compliance training.
  • Manage and analyze quality control assessments, identify trends, and take appropriate action based on microbiological testing results.
  • Ensure all hygiene and food safety procedures align with regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Hygiene & Food Safety Manager to maintain industry-leading sanitation and hygiene standards.
  • Ensure proper inventory management of food-grade chemicals, maintain compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), and provide appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and training for staff.
  • Provide coaching, leadership, and direction to Hygiene & Food Safety Technicians, Specialists, and Nutritionists.
  • Work closely with supervisors and HR to implement corrective action plans when hygiene protocols are not adhered to.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hygiene, food safety, or quality assurance, preferably within a food manufacturing or production environment.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of HACCP, ISO standards, and food safety management systems.
  • HACCP and Food Safety Certifications (state-specific certifications as applicable).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, alongside excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.
