• Perform maintenance functions as required;
• Ensure the facility physical plant and equipment are maintained in safe and efficient working order;
• Repair equipment and tools as necessary.

Qualifications:
• Experience with heading and air conditioning, boiler and water systems, washers, dryers, emergency power generators, and other basic physical plant and equipment items;
• Understanding of principles of preventive maintenance;
• Ability to communicate with staff;
• Genuine care for and interest in elderly and handicapped people;
• Ability to comply with the Patient Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities;
• Ability to comply with Company and departmental safety policies and procedures;
• Ability to read and write the English language;
• Must qualify for company insurance, pass DMV check, practice safe defensive driving skills;
• Ability to perform work tasks within the physical demand requirements as outlined below.

Physical Demands:
May require frequent extended work days, including being on call for emergency situations.
Sitting: 1 -2 hours per 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to walking.
Standing: 4 - 6 hours in an 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to walking and rarely to sitting.
Walking: 5 - 8 hours in an 8 hour work shift. Alternates frequently to standing and rarely to sitting.
Climbing: 1-2 hours in an 8 hours shift.
Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
Driving:  May drive daily for local facility related business such as bank and post office.
