Job Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the Total Care Auto (TCA) accounting team by performing accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and receivable, claims payments, contract cancellation refunds, reconciliations, and other accounting functions. This role requires attention to detail, intermediate Excel skills, and a commitment to operational accuracy and integrity.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Process accounts payable daily
  • Prepare and post daily deposits
  • Reconcile accounts receivable and payable and investigate variances
  • Reconcile and post weekly invoicing
  • Process daily claims payments for Auto, GAP, and Lease products
  • Process contract refund payments weekly
  • Submit new vendor and vendor edit requests
  • Initiate stop payments and void checks in the bank system
  • Perform monthly claims, AP, and AR reconciliations
  • Track and process credit card auto claims on a daily basis
  • Request W-9 forms from new repair facilities as needed
  • Provide backup support to the underwriting department
  • Order and manage accounting-related office supplies
  • Assist with various projects and ad hoc accounting tasks as assigned
  • Escalate and help resolve client issues through appropriate management channels
  • Support internal and external audits as needed

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
  • Two or more years of experience in an accounting environment
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas and basic data functions
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and reconciliation
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Basic communication skills – ability to read, write, and communicate clearly with team members and external partners

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move within the office
