SUMMARY

The Demand Planning Analyst plays a vital role in creating and managing accurate demand forecasts and plans to support strategic and operational goals across multiple factory locations. This position requires strong collaboration with Sales, Product Management, and Supply Chain teams to ensure alignment between demand planning, supply chain, and business objectives. The role involves analyzing data, supporting supply and inventory planning processes, and driving continuous improvement. North American travel may be required to provide on-site support at various factory locations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate closely with Sales and Product Management teams to define, refine, and align demand forecasts and plans with business and market objectives.
  • Develop and maintain rolling demand forecasts for multiple factory locations, incorporating short-term and long-term projections.
  • Analyze customer forecasts, market trends, and historical data to build accurate and actionable demand plans.
  • Create and apply advanced statistical forecasting models, integrating input from key stakeholders to improve accuracy.
  • Support Supply Chain teams by ensuring demand plans are integrated with supply and inventory planning processes to optimize service levels and minimize costs.
  • Monitor and report on key demand planning metrics, including forecast accuracy, forecast bias, inventory levels, and service levels.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for forecast discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Assist Supply Chain teams in developing capacity plans to meet forecasted demand and long-term business strategies.
  • Provide expertise and support in the launch of new products, transitions, and end-of-life planning, ensuring demand planning processes are embedded in the product lifecycle.
  • Actively participate in the SIOP process supporting the demand planning process and Sales teams.
  • Travel as needed within North America to support factory locations and facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
  • Perform ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making and identify areas for process and performance improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, or a related field (APICS CPIM or CSCP certification is a plus).
  • 2-5 years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, Sales, or Related Fields.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and demand planning tools. Strong statistical and data analysis skills. Advanced MS Excel skills are mandatory; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) are a plus.
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities and experience analyzing complex data sets to deliver actionable insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Product Management, and Supply Chain.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is preferred.
  • Experience with SIOP (S&OP) or Business Planning preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

JOB SKILLS

  • Proficiency in SAP, including modules related to demand planning, supply chain, and inventory management. Experience with other ERP systems will be considered on a case-by case basis depending on their relevance to the role.
  • Experience with Power BI for creating dashboards, visualizing key performance indicators, and sharing insights.
  • Familiarity with GIB (or equivalent forecasting modules) for statistical modeling and analysis.
  • A team player that can relate to people at all levels of the organization and possesses excellent communication skills.
  • An energetic, forward-thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and a positive professional image.
  • Ability to be flexible and able to function comfortably in a fast paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment.

  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.  Ability to apply concepts such as percentages, ratios, and proportions to job-related situations.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. 
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

  

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

As part of their job duties, the employee must sit for lengthy periods while operating a computer. They frequently use their hands to type, handle objects, and communicate verbally. Additionally, they may need to stand, walk, reach, and occasionally lift objects weighing up to twenty (20) pounds. This role requires lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching overhead, reaching at or below shoulder level, and keyboarding. PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
  • Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
  • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.
