Marketing Consultant
SUMMARY
Responsible for the marketing of commercial insurance, and supports Producer in pairing up clients to insurance carriers. Also provides mentoring to other staff members, if needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Organizes the marketing department with other department management personnel to best utilize our insurance carriers including such duties as carrier product pricing and staffing differentiation to obtain the best coverage and pricing quotations for our clients and prospects;
• Initiates renewal process for existing clients, and discusses and creates renewal strategy with Producer;
• Analyzes and compares current exposures and develops renewal or new business specifications for marketing;
• Fosters and manages overall relationship with insurance carriers ensuring retention of book of business and high satisfaction;
• Maintains superior relationships with insurance carriers;
• Plans and sets goals to place new and renewal business in collaboration with Producer, Accounts Executive, or other key associates;
• Negotiates to ensure agreements with our submissions are the highest and most complete quality in order to get the business written at a competitive price;
• Coordinates with the placement of hard to place and surplus lines accounts;
• Reviews and summarizes marketing results and forwards to Account Executive;
• Binds insurance coverage;
• Provides strategic marketing advice to staff;
• Notifies Producer of pertinent information related to client retention;
• Meets with clients as needed or directed by Producer;
• Provides mentoring and training to staff to support department needs, if applicable;
• Collection of fees, reconciliation and resolution of any outstanding balances within 90 days of invoicing date;
• Complies with agency management system data standards and data integrity (enters and maintains complete and accurate information);
• Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Eight (8) or more years related work experience, including a commercial P&C marketing role with an insurance agency
Must continue to meet Continuing Education requirements for license renewal
Encouraged to complete Career Path requirements as communicated by supervisor
Valid Insurance License
