Summary:
Cosm is looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to help build a new global network and operations center from the ground up. You’ll be responsible for working with several different technology teams within Cosm to define and help create a network to support Cosm’s growing business in expanding the immersive entertainment experience. This is an amazing opportunity to join a new team that will be on the ground floor for a new venture and get to design networks from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with peers in the Field Technology Engineering team, other internal departments, and vendors on deploying and maintaining a new multi-site network infrastructure.
- Evaluate, select, and implement proposed solution packages for new site buildouts.
- Develop automation and tools to stand up Media & Entertainment (M&E) sites sites and disaster recovery operations.
- Advise on high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the engineering team.
- Develop design changes to the initial architecture based on changing requirements.
- Create and update documentation for network designs, best practices, and operational procedures.
- Be Tier 2 and 3 support for networks once implementation is completed.
- Train Tier 1 support teams in troubleshooting procedures.
- Act as part of the Global Operations team in monitoring the overall infrastructure.
- Maintain, and update network equipment to the latest stable firmware release.
- Manage wireless networks, Network Access Control (NAC), and infrastructure monitoring.
- Research emerging methodologies to constantly improve the efficiency of current networks.
- Establish and implement network security protocols and procedures.
- Develop automation tooling to better improve our deployment and disaster recovery operations.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT
- 8+ years of experience working in Network Management and Support
- Proficiency with building network automation (Ansible, Python, Netbox, Infoblox)
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (Routing/Switching/Wireless certs)
- Experience creating and monitoring firewall policies
- Able to manage, update, and troubleshoot Routing/Switching/Wireless networks
- Willingness to travel and ability to perform physical tasks such as rack and stack
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency with Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, Rukus, and Arista, Clear Pass
- Experience with Cloudvision, Panorama, Palo Alto SDWAN
- Experience with Azure/GCP/AWS network design
- Experience with network security
- Experience with Infrastructure as Cloud methodology
- Experience with BGP routing protocol
- Experience with troubleshooting with ISPs
- Experience with supporting media and broadcast systems
- Experience with live entertainment operations
- Experience with Video Multicast, PTP
- Knowledge of SMPTE 2110
Work Environment
- Available for overtime and weekends as the schedule varies depending on site operational needs; flexibility required.
- Must be able to work during a live production, with loud noise levels, and busy environments (non-office environment)
- Ability to maneuver around an entertainment venue and walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment
- Ability to travel for manufacturing, and installation of new venues.
- Comfortable lifting heavy objects up to 40 lbs
