Position Title:     Business Data Analyst

Job Description:

The Business Data Analyst at EXLService.com, LLC in New York, NY, will work with the Data Strategy team and optimize data availability and delivery from within a dedicated platform Databricks. Write Business Requirement Documents for Business Transformation Processes and get them verified from consumers within the company. Create standard databases readily consumable by data users for their research. Guide data engineers on building databases on Databricks based on information collected from consumers and ensure smooth transition from SQL. Design tables, views, stored procedures, and functions using Spark SQL to be used as report inputs and manage user access to them. Develop proof of concepts of potential data products by building and sharing useful Power BI dashboards. Leverage cross training to maintain integrity and usability of data products created above. Understand and advise consumers on insurance attributes to be added as data fields to assist with business decisions. Present results based on data provided by stakeholders, collect feedback on data products and recommend corrective actions to them. Position may work at various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States. Telecommuting permitted from anywhere in the United States.

Job Requirements:

Requires master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Statistics, economics, mathematics, analytics or a directly related field, plus one (1) year of experience as a Statistician or a related occupation. Requires one (1) years of professional experience with business data analytics. Must have 1 year of experience with each of the following: (1) gathering business and functional requirement documentation and requirement specs for data products; (2) managing projects and maintaining project backlogs; (3) Database systems using SQL, Data modeling, and DBMS to develop data products; (4) Data visualization using Power BI, Tableau, or QuickSight to present business case to stakeholders; and (5) Scripting using R and Python. Employer will also accept a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, economics, mathematics, analytics or a directly related field plus three (3) year of experience in Statistician or a related occupation.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, Salary range: $90,000 to $115,000/year.
