About this opportunity: 

Plans, schedules, supervises, and performs the day-to-day general maintenance andrepair of buildings, grounds, and equipment; ensures all equipment remains in proper working order and compliance with standard operating procedures and safety standards; performs a variety of skilled maintenance work for buildings and grounds, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work as well as routine maintenance and repairs. 


Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Supervisory Responsibilities (25%)  
  • Maintenance Responsibilities (50%)  
  • Maintenance Coordination Responsibilities (25%)  

 

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required with two years coursework from a vocational or technical school in heating, ventilation, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction trades, AND
  • Three years’ experience performing maintenance of heating and cooling systems with at least one year in a supervisory capacity, OR
  • Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: 

Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively. Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects. Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing. Ability to work under the pressure of deadlines and time constraints. Ability to drive a vehicle safelyand in compliance of all laws and regulations. Duties require frequent periods of physical mobility including but not limited to standing, walking, climbing, stooping, squatting, and lifting.  Physical duties may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of sitting. Extensive amount of physical effort required associated with lifting, moving, and carrying heavy objects (more than 50 lbs.) frequently. 

Work is usually performed in a normal office environment; however, work requires driving a vehicle and working outdoorswith exposure to physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
