Location:The Salvation Army – Huntsville, Al Thrift Store

Position Title: Warehouse Worker

About this opportunity:

Receives, receipts, sorts, prices and prepares donated items in a store warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepares for display in the store
• determines suitability and pricing of items based on established standards
• participates in unloading trucks and ensures all unloaded items are processed and placed in the warehouse in accordance with established policies and procedures
• assists in moving furniture to the sales floor
• maintains the orderliness and cleanliness of the loading/unloading areas, warehouse, dock, and parking lot.

What we are looking for in you:

No formal education or experience required.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

:Ability to meet attendance requirements.  Ability to communicate in the English language.  Ability to lift and carry and/or push/pull heavy objects (50 - 100+ lbs.) in order to accomplish primary functions.  Ability to perform frequent walking and/or standing, kneeling or squatting relieved by lesser periods of sitting in order to fulfill primary functions.  Work is performed in a warehouse environment where there are physical discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
