Thrift Store Truck Driver

Location: Venice Thrift Store – Venice, FL

Position Type: Full Time Hourly – 40 hours – Tuesday to Saturday

Pay Range: $19/hour

About this opportunity:

The Thrift Store Truck Driver drives a Salvation Army box truck along a scheduled route to pick-up donations and unload the items at the store. Additionally, the driver will:

• Operate the truck in compliance with established Salvation Army standards and state driving regulations
• Lift, carry, load and unload variety of donations including furniture, appliances, clothing, etc.
• Ensure the safety, security, and accountability of the vehicle and donations at all times
• Assist in performing work in the thrift store and warehouse
• Have the ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving the lifting and carrying of heavy objects

What we are looking for in you:

Education & Experience: 

High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred but not required,

and

one year experience driving a heavy-duty truck or large van,

or

any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Licenses & Certifications: Valid State Driver License 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work requires driving a vehicle daily with exposure to the outdoors where there are physical discomforts associated with changes in weather such as rain, cold, snow, heat or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
