About this opportunity:
Assists in facilitating and monitoring assigned recreational activities of the Community Center programs; supports a community center, assisting with day-to-day programs. Provides homework tutoring; assists outreach specialist and case manager with transporting patrons to and from the Community Center programs &events; helps maintain facilities, equipment, and grounds.
Key responsibilities:
Plans, organizes, coordinates, supervises, leads, and evaluates activities for the assigned program area.
Assist Program Manager and takes part in organized group programming.
Reports any injuries to the supervisor immediately and instructs the injured party to complete an incident report.
Supervises the care and maintenance of all equipment and supplies of the assigned building area and reports damages to equipment or loss of supplies to the Program Manager.
Recommends and requires supplies from the Program Manager.
Stimulates interest and participation in all activities within the policies and operating procedures of the organization.
Assists in fulfilling chores such as preparing the daily snack, setting up the cafe’, and maintaining the Community.
Center in good condition and cleaning up at the end of the day; maintains the general cleanliness, orderliness, and security of the assigned building area.
Assists other departments when asked, especially in helping with special events and fund-raising activities.
Interprets through all available media the objectives and standards of the program to staff, members, volunteers, and the public.
Monitors and participates in the general maintenance of the facilities; remove unsightly trash from the property; reports needed equipment and facility repairs to the Corps Officer and Program Manager promptly.
Other Responsibilities: (10%)
Assists the staff in the promotion and maintenance of the program memberships.
Maintains a safe and orderly atmosphere and environment during all program periods and exercises the discipline of members by the organization’s policies.
Assumes other responsibilities as assigned by the Program Director. Performs other related work as required.
What we are looking for in you:

High school diploma or G.E.D. and six months experience coaching and supervising athletic events and experience maintaining grounds, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid Drivers License
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Ability to meet attendance requirements. Must be able to work all hours assigned, including but not limited to After School programs, School Fall, Spring, and summer breaks, and stormy weather days.
Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language.
Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis.
Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor recreational environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
