Program Director
Location: Portland Corps Louisville, KY
Hours – Mon-Fri 8:30am to 4:30pm, 1 Seasonal full-time position
Position Type: Program Director – Summer Camp
Supervises, plans, schedules, and monitors the planning and delivery of program activities and events. Assist in managing the overall camp operation at the direction of the Corps Officer. Supervises all programs conducted at the day camp through subordinate specialists for various programs such as aquatic/lakefront activities, nature, arts & crafts, outdoor skills/camping, and audio/visual. Design and deliver program activities that are safe, fun, and appropriate to the camper’s age and abilities.

Key responsibilities:
- Supervises and monitors the day-to-day operations of the camp, including the various programs conducted at the camp, including nature, arts and crafts, outdoor skills/camping, and audio/visual; ensures that programs run smoothly and in compliance with established procedures.
- Plans, develops, coordinates, implements, and evaluates camp programs based on the changing needs of campers; develops programs or assists leaders in developing programs to target the enrolled campers..
- Participates as a member of the camp staff team, delivering and supervising evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and functions.
What we are looking for in you:
- Two years of progressively responsible experience administering and developing youth programs preferred
- any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- CPR and First Aid Certification
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Some physical requirements of the Camp Program Director position could be endurance, including climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity are required to manipulate activities. It requires a standard range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs and lift to 50 lbs. Have a willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering a program in the facility that is available. Operate with daily exposure to the sun and heat and varying environmental conditions.
