Location: Nashville Area Command
About this opportunity: The Salvation Army is seeking a passionate, strategic, and mission-driven Major Gifts Manager to lead and elevate our major gifts program in the Nashville Area. This role involves cultivating relationships with major donors, managing donor recognition programs, and overseeing multi-year commitments, capital campaigns, and more. As a key member of the Development team, you will make a meaningful impact by securing major funding from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
Key Responsibilities: • Develop and Manage: Lead the major gifts program for the Nashville Area Command, focusing on growth and sustainability.
• Identify & Cultivate: Build and maintain relationships with major donors and prospects to secure significant financial support.
• Strategic Communication: Create compelling solicitation materials and manage donor visits to strengthen relationships.
• Collaborate: Work alongside the planned giving and resource development teams to maximize fundraising success.
• Recognition Programs: Plan and implement donor recognition programs to enhance relationships and show appreciation for contributions.
• Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date on fundraising trends, legislation, and best practices by attending relevant conferences and training sessions.
What we are looking for in you: • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field and 4+ years of fundraising or nonprofit experience, preferably with major gifts.

Strong knowledge of fundraising principles and major gifts management.

Ability to develop, coordinate, and implement fundraising strategies and programs.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams effectively.

A deep understanding of The Salvation Army’s mission and values.
Additional Qualifications: • Driver’s License: Valid and reliable transportation required.
• Certification: Ability to attain CFRE certification.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions: While the role is primarily office-based, some light physical activity is involved, including lifting materials up to 25 lbs. and travel to various locations.
