Human Resources Generalist

We are looking for a hands-on Human Resource Generalist to join our HR Team in Pataskala, Ohio. As the Human Resource Generalist, you will play a key role in fostering a positive and supportive work environment. You will collaborate with leadership and employees to address and support all HR functions, needs, resolve concerns and ensure understanding of company policies and processes. This includes handling responsibilities within all functional areas of HR: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, training, performance management, policy implementation, benefits administration, and employment law compliance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- HR Policy & Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Communications: Coordinate employee communications to promote employee understanding of programs, policies, and objectives.
- Employee Relations: Counsel supervisory personnel on employee relation matters, including employee discipline, and resolution. Serve as a point of contact for employee questions and concerns. Promote a positive work environment through communication and conflict resolution. Conduct investigations, issue warnings, corrective actions and handle policy violations.
- Performance & Training: Assist in the coordination of performance appraisal processes. Support employee development initiatives, including training and coaching.
- HR Administration: Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records. Generate HR reports and support audits as needed.
- Engagement: Organize employee engagement activities.
- Employee Onboarding: Create and distribute new hire/temp/insurance packets and conduct new hire orientations
- Benefits & Compensation: Support benefits administration including open enrollment, life events, and employee education.
- Record Keeping: Establish and maintain adequate personnel records for past and present employees.
- Compliance: Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
- REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university required in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
- 2-4 years’ experience as a Human Resource Generalist
- Solid understanding of labor laws and HR best practices.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, BambooHR).
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
- JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITY
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products – including Outlook, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Independently identifies and resolves problems. Seeks advice when appropriate.
- Prioritizes and plans work efficiently
- Ability to adapt to changing environments, competing demands, and remains flexible with changes, delays and unexpected events.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information and professionalism.
