Teen Tech Center Program Facilitator/Intern

This position aims to connect with Temple’s Boyer College of Music and Dance, Tyler School of Art and Architecture, and College of Engineering to provide college students with the opportunity to connect with the Greater Philadelphia Community in a way that is engaging and related to their field of study. Working with participants at the Teen Tech Center, this intern will not only facilitate music, art, and STEM related programming, but also mentor participants in college readiness. This internship will explore the positive outcomes of mentorship, community activism, and social emotional learning programming as it relates to interaction with the arts and sciences.

What is needed for this job:
- Intern must be a second-semester college sophomore or older, meeting the INTERNSHIP SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS- TEMPLE UNIVERSITY.
- There is no ‘ideal’ major for this internship; however, students from these schools may find more relevance than others:

- This internship is only eligible for college credit.
INTERNSHIP SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS – TEMPLE UNIVERSITY
- Attend a Credit Internship Information Session the semester before the internship is to take place
- Complete 10-20 hours per week of on-site programming under managerial supervision
- Intern must have completed a minimum of 60 credits and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher

- Inters with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are only required to have a minimum of 45 credits completed
- Interns must participate for a minimum of 140 to earn 3 credits
- Complete supplemental work and related assignments as assigned by the faculty supervisor
The responsibilities we will trust you with:
- Meet with participants at the Teen Tech Center to facilitate programming in-person. Examples of programming include:
- Recording studio facilitation and monitoring
- Podcast studio facilitation and monitoring
- Digital art projects (fine art, 3D printing)
- Hands-on work with drones and robots
- Connect with Teen Program directors and Temple professors to further develop programming and discuss the experience
- Complete administrative tasks
- Meet with Youth and Government students to facilitate programming (either in-person or virtually)
- Track program attendance and complete administrative tasks.
- (Optional) attend Youth Civic Engagement conferences and weekend events.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
