Leadership Programs Facilitation Specialist

We are seeking a Full Time Leadership Programs Facilitation Specialist responsible for developing and implementing transformational leadership programs based on space exploration and advancing inclusion for informal learning institutions across the world.
Space Center Houston’s Human Performance Accelerator Lab (HPALab) is a premier global corporate leadership training and development program focused on maximizing human performance at the individual, team, and organizational levels. Using off-planet insights to amplify on-planet impacts for humanity, we leverage NASA’s 60+ years of human health and performance research findings. Fused with business expert and elite space exploration speakers and cutting-edge immersive leadership learning activities, we deliver unique and high-impact experiences to individuals and teams at home, at work, and around the globe.
POSITION RESPONSIBILTIES:
- In collaboration with others, develop HPALab content by strategically combining NASA leadership insights with cutting-edge and inspirational strategy and
experts in the field.
- Develops and implements session materials, presentations, agendas, and creative activities tailored to the group or organization’s needs.
- Schedule, organize, and participate in event design and strategy work sessions with the team to plan, schedule, and prepare for events.
- Organizes content and writes outlines for HPALab programs.
- Finds research resources to support the content.
- Facilitates programs for adult learners and their families.
- Helps train Education staff to lead program activities
- Partners with Human Resources to facilitate internal staff training programs, as requested.
- Uses facilitation techniques to encourage participation, creative thinking, and problem-solving among participants.
- Adjusts facilitation methods based on feedback and continuously improve the effectiveness of your approach.
- Foster a safe and inclusive and collaborative environment where all participants feel comfortable sharing their ideas.
- Monitor and evaluate training effectiveness, and make recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Works closely with Marketing & Communications to prepare and manage materials to advertise and promote HPAL events and programming.
- Helps to develop client proposals, including scopes of work/task outlines, schedules, and budget estimates.
- Build relationships with NASA’s Johnson Space Center and other organizations in the community to find speakers, partners, and clients.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in training and development
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree in Education, Business Management or related STEM field or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience teaching, training, facilitation and/or developing innovative STEM and/or leadership education programs and/or curriculum. Informal education experience outside a traditional classroom preferred.
- Professional certification such as CTF (Certified Training Facilitator) preferred.
- Ability to curate multiple resources into transformational leadership programs.
- Experience leading workshops and trainings for executives preferred.
- Experience supervising work groups or teams preferred.
- A passion for space exploration.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- A versatile team player with a commitment to educational quality, innovation, inclusion and accessibility.
- Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills including proficiency using Microsoft products.
PHYSICAL ABILITIES/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Must be physically able to lift up to 30 pounds and have the ability to stand for up to 6-8 hours at time.
- Available to work flexible hours including weekends, some evenings and occasional travel.
