The Role:As a member of the Multicultural Counseling team, the Mental Health Clinician provides culturally sensitive mental health services. Their role involves helping clients, navigate cultural and language barriers to access necessary mental health, medical, social, and educational services. Our work schedule is hybrid and flexible, with a standard work week of 37.50 hours.
Responsibilities:
- Provide culturally appropriate, trauma-informed counseling to individuals, families, and groups
- Maintain active case load including case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs and referrals to medication management or other adjunctive services (e.g. support group, peer support, case management)
- Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
- Collaborate with consumer supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated on an ongoing basis
- Demonstrate awareness and sensitivity in the delivery of client services as it relates to the cultural and socioeconomic characteristics of the populations served
- Model and encourage direct, professional communication among staff members, and facilitate development of a positive staff support network
Requirements:
- Ability to read, write, and speak English and Russian, Ukrainian, French, Karen or Nepali
- Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Art Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field.
- Current counseling certification and licensing in the state of Oregon or making progress toward Oregon license.
Clearances: Standard LCSNW criminal clearance, including national sex offender, ORCHARDS, SAM/OIG required.
