POSITION SUMMARY:The ICOD Mental Health Clinician is responsible for providing counseling/clinical mental health services in the form of mental health assessment and treatment, substance abuse assessment and counseling, and co-occurring disorders treatment, with diverse clientele to include youth and families, adults, couples, and groups. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records, relating to other staff in a supportive manner, recommending and carrying out agency policies, and maintaining professional standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide culturally appropriate, trauma informed mental health treatment services to children, youth, adults and families experiencing mental health conditions, substance use disorders, problem gambling disorders, and/ or co-occurring disorders.
- Conduct mental health screenings and assessments to determine treatment needs
- Diagnose individuals utilizing most current DSM and ASAM format
- Facilitate client participation in the development of treatment plans based on client strengths
- Maintain timely case notes and records in alignment with the agency’s documentation standards
- Apply evidenced-based practices in treatment
- Collaborate with client supports, including family members, partner agencies, and others as indicated on an ongoing basis
- Co-facilitate psychoeducation groups, as needed
- Provide part-time representation at our West Valley location in Willamina
QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree granted by an accredited institution in Counseling, Marriage & Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or closely related field is required
- Must meet State of Oregon Administrative Rule requirements for a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) and possess, or work toward, MHACBO certification as a QMHP-C unless already pursuing licensure through another counseling/social work profession’s board.
- Certified CADC I or CADC-R in the State of Oregon required, CADC II preferred
- Successful completion of a background check through DHS and the FBI is required
- Cannot be excluded from participation in any federal healthcare programs (Medicaid, Medicare, and other federally funded programs that provide health benefits)
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: LCSW, LMFT, LPC, or QMHP-C in the State of Oregon is preferred; eligibility for licensure, or working toward licensure, in Oregon is required. Must have a current driver license, car insurance, and consistent access to a reliable vehicle.
