Credit Specialist

JOB PURPOSE: The position of a Credits Analyst (Billing Adjuster) would be responsible for the daily analysis and processing of Billing Adjustments for assigned accounts. Due to the high volume of documents and research, excellent clerical, follow thorough and organizational skills are required. The position would also entail extensive verbal and written communications with Sales Staff, Branch Operations, Billing and Contracts and possibly our Customers.
DUTIES:
- Review files and email inbox poll containing Billing Adjustment Requests (single customers and large customers’ special projects).
- Research the Requests. Obtain and examine all relevant information to validate the Credits-Billing Adjustments: compile, sort, and verify accuracy of data to be entered comparing information to identify errors and ensure completeness based on policies and procedures.
- Analyze account information - statements, payments, invoices and data base – to validate the disputed services/ rates, based on original terms and services provided.
- Resolve customers billing complaints by performing the needed research, calculation of adjustments and accurate data entry; complying with the department procedures, accurate computer codes use and required approvals,
- Check to ensure that appropriate changes were done. Compare data entered with source documents. Keep records of customer interactions, complaints, or comments, as well as actions taken. Refer unresolved customer requests to designated departments for further investigation
- Work under the company’s goals and keep up with daily requests.
- Prepare reports
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:

- High School diploma is required or equivalent.
- College Degree is preferred.
- This position requires the incumbent to have a minimum two years experience.
- This position requires good analytical and oral communication skills in order for the incumbent to accurately verify statements, invoices and customer’s data base.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Excel, Word and a live Web-based environment) is required.
- This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to adjust and interact with all levels of personnel.
