About the Role:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced BC/DR Consultant for a short-term engagement to support the development, review, and enhancement of our business continuity and disaster recovery documentation. The ideal candidate will work closely with business and IT stakeholders to ensure robust and compliant plans are in place to minimize operational disruptions and accelerate recovery from potential business-impacting events.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess current state of business continuity and disaster recovery plans and identify gaps or areas for improvement.
  • Develop, update, and standardize BCP and DR documentation, including business impact analysis (BIA), recovery strategies, contact lists, escalation protocols, and testing schedules.
  • Facilitate and document risk assessments and scenario planning workshops with relevant stakeholders.
  • Align documentation with industry best practices and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST, FFIEC).
  • Collaborate with IT teams to ensure recovery objectives (RTO/RPO) are clearly defined and achievable.
  • Coordinate and document DR test exercises and tabletop simulations.
  • Create user-friendly templates and checklists to support business units in ongoing BCP/DR maintenance.
  • Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams for future plan ownership and updates.

 

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in business continuity planning and disaster recovery.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing BCP/DR documentation.
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and audit requirements.
  • Excellent written communication and process documentation skills.
  • Strong facilitation and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • Experience in risk management or IT governance frameworks is a plus.
  • Certification in BCP/DR (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer) preferred.
