POSITION SUMMARY:

 

Responsible for overseeing the accurate count of chips in all drop boxes on a per shift basis. Perform all duties assigned in accordance with all applicable legal regulations and requirements.

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Overseeing and providing training for the Count Team.
  2. Coaching on best practices and procedures.
  3. Assists in implementing policies and standard operating procedures related to the Count Team Department.
  4. Setting performance standards and work goals for the Count Team on their shift.
  5. Continually assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of work performed.
  6. Creating and administering employee performance evaluations.
  7. Initiating corrective/disciplinary action as necessary per Company policies.
  8. Participate in interviews and make recommendations to hire new Count Team staff.
  9. Ensuring Count Team complies with safety procedures.
  10. Plans and directs work of Count Team to staff accordingly.
  11. Creating weekly work schedules and approving timesheets.
  12. Oversee and assists in the daily counting of casino chips.
  13. Responsible for ensuring that all casino revenue shift (Poker and California) collections are accurately counted, documented and transferred to the cage.
  14. Responsible for ensuring that all casino revenue and jackpot collections are properly entered into the computer system and are reconciled with the physical count.
  15. Ensures that discrepancies of the daily count are researched and corrected before transferring the chips to the cage.
  16. Before the end of shift, informs the Count Team Manager of any count room process discrepancies that require further evaluation.
  17. Complies with and enforces California Gambling Control Regulations pertaining the Minimum Internal Controls Standards (MICS).
  18. Inform the Count Team Manager in a timely manner of any count process discrepancies and other operational incidents.
  19. Maintains ongoing communication with Count Team staff, Security, Cage, Engineering and Surveillance for the timely counting of collection boxes.
  20. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department management.

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Work Experience Required: Five years of cash handling experience

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.

 

Licenses:

  • A casino work permit from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
  • The Count Team Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Count Room department processes.  Regarding the supervision of employees, however, this position is limited to making suggestions or recommendations regarding the staff to the Chief Financial Officer, who holds a Key Employee or Officer License. The Chief Financial Officer is the position that makes managerial decisions on behalf of Count Room department. The Count Team Supervisor understands and acknowledges he/she cannot take any action that would require a Key Employee license.

 

Work Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel preferred.
  • Requires eye and hand coordination and manual dexterity; requires the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols; requires the use of a computer, calculator, copier and telephone.
  • Must maintain high confidentiality.
  • Learn new processes quickly, and ability to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Highly detailed oriented and have strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
