GC&E Federal is seeking a Systems Administrator. The candidate for this position will work within our team to support our government Information Technology (IT) program with our Anniston Army Depot client. 

 

INSIDE PLANT / VOIP ADMINISTRATOR- ANNISTON ARMY DEPOT, AL Plant program with our Anniston Army Depot client. As a ISP Technician you will be an integral part in ensuring the successful operations and maintenance of the Telecommunications team at Anniston Army Depot. 

 

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Function

 

  • Install and configure networking equipment such as T-metrics, NET +, and Avaya Unified Call Manager.
  • Diagnose and resolve networking problems associated with, Avaya Unified Call Manager, T-Metrics
  • Automated Call Distribution, Session Initiation Protocol trunking equipment and Avaya Analog gateway appliances.
  • Administer Avaya proprietary platforms (Session Manager, Call Managers, Local Session controller,
  • Session Border Controller, Media Gateway, and Voicemail) to include troubleshooting software and hardware issues.
  • Conduct routine maintenance including patching, firmware updates and software upgrades.
  • Develop, implement, and assess network security measures.
  • Promote IT and network security control measures, practices, and techniques.
  • Manage and maintain the Call Managers, Gatekeepers and Gateway equipment, if applicable, on all networks.
  • Monitor and identify capacity, quality and performance issues for VoIP traffic to ensure continued, uninterrupted operation of telephony systems.
  • Prepare, maintain, and review circuit level voice IP drawings and coordinate with Government representatives to develop VoIP Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTP) for VoIP implementation on installations.
  • Perform analysis of VoIP degradations and failures, and then provide trend analysis and recommendations to the Government to avert future issues.
  • Provide the IA section with completed and accurate VoIP Diagrams.
  • Possess Professional Certification(s) for the supported VoIP equipment and/or systems identified in this task order.
  • Provide installation services of VoIP sets, customer orientation, and replacement when sets fail.
  • Provide O&M support for existing, new, and future VoIP (secure and non-secure) technology utilizing the current industry best practice implementations.

Will restore:

  • O&M Dual Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF) and VoIP type telephones.
  • Provide VoIP call features, e.g. call forwarding, call transfer/3-way conference, ring again, last number redial, call pickup, speed calling, and caller ID.
  • Manage and maintain automated attendant services.
  • Provide local touch labor for installation, troubleshooting, repairing, changing cable pairs, etc.
  • O&M and system administration for voice mail box services.
  • Inspect and maintain underground cable in the Attachment 1 paragraph 6 & 7 (maintenance holes, hand holes, telephone poles, and vaults).
  • Manually maintain a hard-copy of the Plant-in-Place (PIP) drawing library, and will submit changes and updates to the local Directorate of Public Works (DPW) for the Geographic Information System (GIS) site.
  • O&M the common core backbone infrastructure plant and equipment.

Physical Requirements

  • Predominantly indoors in normal office environment

  • Must be able to climb telecommunication towers
  • Must be able to speak, write, read, and understand English
  • May require frequent computer use for several hours at a time
  • Frequently work at fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
  • Must have visual acuity
  • Must be able to lift up-to 25 pounds

  • Anniston Army Depot – This is not a remote position. Local candidates only.
