Learning Management System Administrator
Albright College is seeking a Learning Management System (LMS) Administrator to work with faculty to build high quality online Canvas courses. The person in this position will play an important role in ensuring consistency of design and quality across all online courses to help improve learning, student success, persistence, retention, and program completion. 
The full-time, on-campus LMS Administrator will be a critical part of the review of existing and approval of new online courses offered by the College. Faculty will work with the LMS administrator as the subject matter experts while directed about best practices in pedagogy and design for online learning.
The LMS Administrator, specializing in Canvas, plays a pivotal role in managing and supporting the institution's digital learning environment. This position ensures that the Canvas platform operates efficiently and meets the educational needs of faculty, staff, and students.
The LMS Administrator is a twelve-month staff position and will also teach up to four courses a year for the Education Department as part of their role.
Key LMS Responsibilities:
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to faculty, staff, and students, addressing issues related to course content, user access, assessments, and grading functionalities within Canvas.
  • Instructional Design: Work with faculty members to build high quality instruction in an online learning environment.
  • Faculty Support: Assist Faculty members in the effective use of Canvas features and tools in online and face-to-face classes.
  • System Maintenance: Ensure the LMS is up-to-date with the latest features, bug fixes, and security patches. Collaborate with IT staff to integrate Canvas with other institutional systems and maintain system integrity.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting: Generate and analyze reports on learner progress, course completion, and system usage to inform decision-making and improve the learning experience, improve retention, and increase enrollment.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
  • Master’s degree in Education Technology, or a related field from an accredited university (terminal degree preferred).
Experience:
  • Proven experience as an LMS Administrator or in a similar role, with specific experience in managing Canvas or comparable LMS platforms.
  • Minimum of three academic years of PK-12 teaching experience in U.S. schools.
  • Preferred experience supervising pre-service teachers or working in higher education.
Technical Proficiency:
  • Strong technical skills, including experience with LMS platforms such as Canvas, and familiarity with computer technology and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to train and support users effectively.
  • Knowledge of Instructional Design: Understanding of instructional design principles and adult learning theory.
