Airport HR Generalist

The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with senior HR management in supporting designated functions. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and recruitment/employment. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience within the aviation industry, perhaps having worked your way up through the ranks to your role as a leader. We believe this trajectory helps develop a unique mix of management expertise, plus proficiency with the practices, policies, and procedures of the aviation industry. This position requires oversight of a fast-paced 24-hour operation
Responsibilities

Partners with employees and management to communicate various human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, and other government regulations.

Recruit and Hire hourly employees, schedule drug tests and necessary pre-hire background checks

Complete weekly staffing reports

Onboard employees to include all new hire paperwork, I-9 compliance, badging requirements and HRIS training

Develop and conduct a new hire orientation

Prepares separation notices to employees and ensures proper documentation is submitted with requests

Review time cards and work with managers to ensure that all timecards are complete and reviewed in time for payroll

Provide answers to employee questions regarding benefit, leave of absence, time off and payroll questions

Assist Managers with ensuring disciplinary actions are documented and uploaded into HRIS database

Assist with benefits enrollment questions during new hire and open enrollment periods

Partners with the Regional HR Manager to perform employee investigations and answer employee enquiries

May assist with administrative functions such as ordering station supplies, assisting with employee uniform issues, employee parking, preparing monthly reports for the airport authority or for GAT, maintaining “tracker” documents covering hiring and training status, tracking attendance

Performs all other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related coursework strongly preferred.

Two to four years of experience in a human resource generalist role.

Working knowledge of employment law (Federal, State and Local)

Experience in high volume staffing and recruiting

Computer proficiency Office Software systems. G Suite (Google Docs, Sheets and Slides) experience preferred

Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to work together with a team as well as independently

Ability to work with complete confidentiality

Must work with a high sense of urgency and an excellent customer service attitude

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
