Summary of Position:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Surgery Scheduler to join our team in a remote capacity. In this role, you will play a critical part in supporting our orthopedic providers and patients by efficiently coordinating and scheduling surgical procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, preferably prior experience in surgical scheduling, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced, virtual environment.
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and schedule surgeries in collaboration with physicians, surgical centers, and hospitals, and Verisma staff
• Communicate with patients regarding procedure details, pre-op instructions, post- op instructions, and insurance requirements
• Obtain and verify all necessary documentation, including insurance authorizations, referrals, and medical clearances
• Ensure all scheduling information is accurately entered into the system and updated as needed
• Serve as a point of contact for patients and providers for any scheduling changes or questions
• Collaborate with clinical, administrative teams, and Verisma staff to ensure a seamless patient experience
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and all organizational policies and procedures
• Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company
Minimum Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or relevant certification preferred
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in EMR systems and scheduling software
• Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote work environment
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced setting and handling confidential information with discretion
• Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required
• Ability to fulfill responsibilities in a remote capacity while ensuring access to strong/reliable internet, within a designated, secure, and private workspace
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to read, understand, and analyze general business and accounting information
• Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
