Summary of Position:
The Data Engineer is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of Verisma Technologies’ enterprise data solutions and products. This role plays a key part in advancing current data assets and supporting the execution of future data initiatives outlined in the organizational roadmap. The Data Engineer works closely with internal teams to ensure data projects are delivered on time and in alignment with business objectives. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, and experience leading technical workstreams. This is a remote position with supervisory responsibilities.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Engage in the design, creation, testing, and implementation of data deliverables (i.e. Business Intelligence, Reports, Data Feeds) including but not limited to ensure the movement, enhancement, integration, quality and availability of data throughout the company
- Create the documentation of interfaces and data movement, including how the data is transformed as it moves and any aggregation or calculations
- Provide data engineer design, impact analysis and technical specifications and requirements to items as it relates to the current and future enterprise engineer
- Develop and maintain a detailed mapping of current data sources
- Define integrative views of data and manage related metadata
- Design canonical data views to assist a broad range of transformations and translations
- Define technical standards and guidelines to encourage reuse of existing data stores, as well as address issues of security, timeliness, and quality
- Investigate emerging technologies and new releases
- Participate in proof-of-concept projects and other projects that are early users of new technologies.
- Clearly communicate and support the use of the data engineer to all stakeholders
- Provide operational support for data solutions and associated deliverables 24x7
- Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering or other related fields; Master’s degree in Computer Science or Management, preferred
- 5+ years of proven professional data experience in a combination of the following areas: SSRS PowerBI, MS SQL, crystal reporting, BI tools, data development of enterprise solutions such as warehousing, enhanced reporting and data integration services
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and/or engineering required
- Skilled in information delivery concept, design and development using modern reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure, managing multiple priorities, and complete tasks on time within a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational, time management, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to work well with users at all levels, both within the Verisma Technologies’ and customers’ organization
- Must possess a “can do” and positive attitude in approaching challenges
- Ability to work in cloud computing environments
- Familiarity with Microsoft tools, with a preference for experience in SharePoint and Microsoft Solutions such as Azure Data Services
- Experience in working with Big Data technologies, large data warehouse environment with complex data models, preferred
- Excellent oral, written communications and presentation skills with both technical and non-technical information.
