Audit Bench Release of Information Specialist

The Bench Release of Information Specialist (ROIS) is part of a coordinated team that supports all of Verisma’s clients when additional or supplemental support is needed. This position must be able to take direction from multiple people and pivot when required. The Bench ROIS initiates the medical record release process by inputting data into Verisma Software. The Bench ROIS works quickly and carefully to ensure documentation is processed accurately and efficiently. This position could be based out of a Verisma facility, at a client site, or in some instances may be done remotely. This position is expected to maintain training and access in order to support all Verisma accounts. The primary supervisor is Manager of Operations, CS & Bench.

 

 

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Process medical ROI requests in a timely and efficient manner

• Weekly renewal for all accounts to maintain access

• Process requests utilizing Verisma software applications

• Support the resolution of HIPAA-related release issues

• Organize records and documents to complete the ROI process

• Read and interpret medical records, forms, and authorizations

• Comfortably navigate through and work efficiently in multiple EMR systems

• Prioritize workload while being able to work independently

• Support various Managers on various accounts, need depending

• Communicate effectively with Clients and Verisma management / associates regarding issues and workload

• Maintain standards of excellence with a high level of productivity, efficiency and accuracy

• Must be proficient and well versed in all required protocols to ensure compliance

• Provide exemplary customer service

• Interact with customers and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner

• Utilize reference material provided by Verisma to ensure compliance and confidentiality is always maintained

• May assist with training new hires, as needed

• Attend necessary training sessions and complete annual compliance courses

• Maintain necessary background, drug and health screening documentation to ensure access to all Verisma

accounts

• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure effective operation of the department and the Company

Minimum Qualifications:

• HS Diploma or equivalent, some college preferred

• RHIT certification, preferred

• At least 4 years of medical record experience

• At least 1 year of exemplary service as a Release of Information Specialist

• At least 4 years of experience completing clerical or office work

• Proficiency using general office equipment including desktop computer, scanner, Microsoft Office Suite to

complete tasks

• Experience in a healthcare setting, preferred• Knowledge of HIPAA and state regulations related to the release of Protected Health Information, preferred

• Ability to support multiple accounts and work within multiple EMR systems

• Tact and diplomacy to be able to work collaboratively with different Managers and co-workers depending on

the account being supported

• Must maintain necessary background, drug and health screening as required by accounts being supported

• Must be able to work independently

• Must be detail oriented
