Advanced Assembly, Inc. (AAI), located in University Research Park on the west side of Madison, is looking to add a Quality Engineer to our well-trained and experienced staff. Advanced Assembly, Inc. is an electronics manufacturing services provider of electronic assemblies and products, including the Captioned Telephone (CapTel). This full-time, first shift position offers a Monday - Friday schedule, a competitive starting wage and a full benefits package. Wage depending on experience. Job Summary: The Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring and testing the quality of products throughout the manufacturing process, ensuring they meet established standards by identifying issues, recommending solutions, and implementing quality control systems to maintain and improve product quality. The Quality Engineer will often collaborate with engineering and production teams to address any discrepancies and prevent future defects. Key duties include developing inspection procedures, analyzing data, investigating customer complaints, and proposing process improvements to optimize production quality.

- Quality control plan development: Create and implement quality control plans to identify critical control points, establish metrics, and monitor production processes for compliance.
- Product testing and inspection: Oversee testing and inspection of products at various stages of production to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Data analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data from quality control points to identify trends, root causes of issues, and recommend corrective actions.
- Problem-solving: Investigate customer complaints, non-conforming products, and production issues to determine root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Process improvement: Identify areas for improvement within manufacturing processes and propose changes to enhance product quality and efficiency.
- Documentation and reporting: Maintain detailed quality records, generate reports on quality metrics, and document findings for management review.
- Compliance management: Ensure adherence to industry regulations, quality standards (like ISO standards), and company quality policies.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and other departments to identify and address quality concerns.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct reports.

Requirements: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required.
- Bachelor’s degree in related quality/engineering field, or relevant experience.
- 3-7 years of experience in a production environment; Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry experience is a plus.
- Ability to read, speak, and understand both verbal and written instructions in the English language.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems.
- Lean, Lean/Six Sigma, or Six Sigma experience, training, and/or certification desired.
- Working knowledge of ISO standards and certification process; IPC knowledge and experience is a plus.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel.
- Good verbal and written skills to communicate and coordinate information across multiple departments.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
