Office Manager
Location: Sarasota County, Florida
Position Type: Full Time – 37.5 hours – Monday to Friday – 8am to 4pm (flexible start and end time)
Pay Range: $28-$30
About this opportunity:
The Office Manager manages and overseas the administrative functions of the Area Command office to ensure effective and timely workflow processes. Additionally, the Office Manager will be responsible for supervising the Administrative Assistant who also serves as the receptionist.
Key responsibilities:
- Performs advanced, complex, and often confidential administrative office work with a broad scope of responsibilities that may include finance, development or operational support.
- Manages communication into and out of the department and coordinates information and arrangements for meetings.
- Directs and assigns projects and priorities for the Administrative Receptionist. Serve as back up when receptionist is away from the work site.
- Serves as liaison to the Advisory Board and handles all logistics related to Executive Committee and Advisory Board meetings. Prepares and attends monthly meetings which may require early morning set up and cleaning up.
- Take minutes of meetings and distributes to all those concerned.
- Responsible for Senior Angel program at Christmas. Coordinate with participating agencies and other Christmas team members to solicit angels, enter information into databases and get angels adopted. Makes sure gifts are returned to agencies in a timely manner for distribution.
- Coordinates special activities for administrative staff including, but not limited to birthday celebrations, Christmas potluck, Secret Santa, etc.
What we are looking for in you:
- Two year college or technical school degree in accounting, bookkeeping, business or related field, and
- Four years’ experience in the management of an office environment and one year supervisory experience managing at least two direct reports or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Valid state driver’s license is required.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather.
